It is estimated that about 40 per cent of the world’s population use social media, and many of these billions of social media users look up to influencers to help them decide what to buy and what trends to follow.

So what is an influencer and how do we become one?

An influencer is a person who can influence the decisions of their followers because of their relationship with their audience and their knowledge and expertise in a particular area, e.g. fashion, travel or technology.

Influencers often have a large following of people who pay close attention to their views. They have the power to persuade people to buy things, and influencers are now seen by many companies as a direct way to customers’ hearts. Brands are now asking powerful influencers to market their products. With some influencers charging up to $25,000 for one social media post, it is no surprise that more and more people are keen to become influencers too. If you are one of them, then here are five tips on how to do it.

1. Choose your niche

What is the area that you know most about? What do you feel most excited talking about? Find the specific area that you’re most interested in and develop it.

2. Choose your medium and write an interesting bio

Most influencers these days are bloggers and micro-bloggers. Decide which medium – such as your own online blog, Instagram or Snapchat – is the best way to connect with your followers and chat about your niche area. When you have done that, write an attention-grabbing bio that describes you and your speciality area in an interesting and unique way. Make sure that people who read your bio will want to follow you.

3. Post regularly and consistently

Many influencers post daily on their social media accounts. The more you post, the more likely people will follow you. Also, ensure that your posts are consistent and possibly follow a theme.

4. Tell an interesting story

Whether it is a photo or a comment that you are posting, use it to tell a story that will catch the attention of your followers and help them connect with you.

5. Make sure people can easily find your content

Publicise your posts on a variety of social media, use hashtags and catchy titles and make sure that they can be easily found. There is no point writing the most exciting blogposts or posting the most attractive photographs if no one is going to see them.

Most importantly, if you want to become a social media influencer, you need to have patience. Keep posting and your following will gradually increase. Good luck!

I know some influencers. But so far, I don't enjoy from them a lot, since I have been avoiding socil media influnce on my life. They are an idle dource of knowledge to me.

In the hypothetical case I would be an influencer, I would use youtube, because as a scientist, I would spread my knowledge throught videos and conferences.

Yes, I've heard a lot about social media influencers.
Nowadays, it's quite common to see them on the internet, as becoming an influencer is a trend. I believe the most usual area of influencers that I follow are food, beauty and comedy.
On the other hand, if I were an influencer, I would like to create content about comedy and post it on Instagram and TikTok, because I consider these days they are the most used platforms.

Yes, I know two social media influencers their names are Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift. If you ask me about Selena Gomez niche area I think it is the lifestyle. She is usually endorsing fashion lifestyle, and if you ask me about Taylor Swift niche area I think it is the music. She is really good at singing. Her songwriting often takes inspiration from her personal life has received widespread critical plaudits and media coverage.
If I became an influencer, I would post about health lifestyle and I would use Instagram to post all my stories

I use to follow some vegan influencers. But not really much I`m out of that world.

If you became a social media influencer, what medium would you use and what would you post about?
Actually, I'm keen on some social media influencers in such niche areas as fashion, travelling and sport. However, to be honest, I hardly ever follow their recommendations.
If I became a social media influencer, I'd post my ideas on Instagram and Snapchat. As for niche areas, I'd post about travelling abroad, fitness and fashion.

I know one the best influencer for me, she post really expression and story her live I like to following her in the social media. For me can not be om influencer because iam poor writing

I'm not very keen on social media...I use some Youtube channels, mostly about English, nutrition, fitness or yoga, but there is nobody who has ever influenced any of my decisions or persuaded me to buy any kind of products or services.
If I became a social media influencer, I'd use a variety of
social media Facebook, Instagram, Youtube.. because if I ever try and do it, I'd do my best to post something that's is worth seeing and more likely to be admired by as many people as possible and therefore I'd try to take advantage of a wide range of mediums. Regarding the area I'd choose, I think I feel most excited talking about fitness and nutrition.

I liked your comment. It's inspiring!)

I know some social media influencers, for example Patrick jordan, she is a woman who posts workout routines.
If I were to become a social media influencer, I would use Facebook Twitter, Instagram, youtube, etc.
I would post about education, books, pedagogy and didactics.

If I became a social media influencer, I would to post on Instagram about Filmmaking and Cinematography. Because I consider myself a master on creating and telling stories.
